Hi! I am Gemma – wife, mother and baker. I live in a beautiful part of rural Aberdeenshire with my family. I am delighted to share my passion for baking with you.

My first memories are making lemon drizzle cake with my grandmother, watching her putting her love into her baking.  I started baking seriously during the pandemic to bring happiness to my family. When my boys were born, making birthday cakes became a fun activity and I soon found myself baking and decorating cakes for friends and family.

When my boys were very small, I would take my bakes to ‘baby group’ and received so much positive feedback from other mums. This inspired me to open an honesty box selling my baking.

I started Tillyfar Treats as a creative outlet for me which led to the cake shed. I opened my first cake shed in 2024, and the wee shed (refrigerated) followed soon afterwards.

I would describe my cake decorating style as eclectic. I am always experimenting with different styles, such as minimal or vintage, and children’s cakes are a big favourite with me as they are so joyful.
